Fiberscopes

Fiberscopes are a flexible optical fiber bundle that come with an eyepiece on one end, and a lens on the other. Fiberscopes are used to examine and inspect small, difficult to reach places. Examples of this are the human body, machines, welds, and other medical components. Optical fiber used in scopes is typically made of glass.

The first fiberscope was used during the 1960's. Since then, the technologic development has been exponential. The most recent invention has been video fiberscopes. The primary advantages are that the device conforms to the patients anatomy and can be navigated through most airways. Because of this, the instrument has become a staple for airway management during an operation.

Fiberscopes are compatible with a number of accessory attachments that Medical Device Store carries. Because field of view and the viewing angle are determined by optics in the scopes's end, many fiberscopes feature a tip that can be removed and switched out for different adapters. Adapters may change the quality, and magnification of the image.

Medical Device Store offers fiberscopes and videolaryngoscopes. Specific adapters can also be found according to their specialty. All equipment is from KARL STORZ and made from genuine OEM stainless steel.
